We Are:

A community resource for celebration of life's events. including...

Seasonal Celebrations, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, Wedding showers, Births, Wakes, Memorials, House Blessings, Garden Parties, Anniversaries, Ground Breakings, Christenings, Blessings, Healings, Hospitals, Assisted Living, Rallies, Supportive Events and Fund Raising Needs, and other Acts of Love and Kindness.

 

 

Our goals:

 To illuminate the sacredness in every aspect of women's lives through artful demonstrations of dance, ritual, and music.

To reach women of all ages and assist them to fully awaken to their potential for happiness, freedom and beauty as women.

 To counter the stereotypical views imposed by society that often seem to conspire to keep women locked in cycles of low self esteem.

To honor the earth and the culture of all humanity. To extend this enlightenment to boys and men too. To promote creativity as a necessity of a balanced life for all human beings.

To promote and financially support organizations that improve the lives of women and children all over the Earth, with special attention to our home community and the Middle East,  which gifted the world with the beautiful form of dance we adore... Raqs  Sharki... Danse Oriental...

Ways

to get involved!

1) Join the Temple Dance Class  to  develop the skills and knowledge of a Neighborhood Temple Priestess.

In class we will learn: ritual structure, ecstatic dance, parade dances, community dances, sacred songs empowering the feminine and celebrating our connection to the Living Earth, improvisational belly dance techniques,  Avena's  "Raqs Dakini" meditation and more!

We will enjoy dancing together and for each other in class. No performance commitment is required.  Those who have trained in class will be able to perform with the priestesses  as  opportunities arise.

Cost?

Preistesses pay monthly dues of $25.  A portion of each enrollment in Temple Dance Class will be donated to a charitable organization  selected by those in the class. (100% of profits from performances will be donated in the same manner.)

When you sponsor a Blessing Ceremony for someone you are participating in an ancient tradition filled with love and power. It is said that those who sponsor a blessing for others gain even more blessing in return than those for whom the blessing is performed.

Avena Wolfesinger, founding member of the Carrollton Temple Priestesses, is an ordained minister and performance artist, who has been leading and participating in women's rituals for over 15 years.

Her love of theater and growing interest in women's circles led her to research and practice the ancient blessing rituals of belly dance. After discovering that Delilah (a west coast belly dancer who had long been an inspiration to her) was creating a group  in alignment with her own deepest feelings and desires for her dance, she decided to merge her vision with that of theFremont Priestesses to create a dancing rainbow spanning the United States and hopefully, the World.
